Need to stage a prison riot? Do hard time at The Prison! An imposing stone structure fashioned in the castellated Gothic architectural style and adorned with turrets and battlements, the former West Virginia State Penitentiary, now operated by the Moundsville Economic Development Council, is a tourist attraction and nationally known for rumors of ghosts and paranormal activities above and below ground. The facility also houses the National Corrections and Law Enforcement Training and Technology Center. Advance notice is required.
