My skills have been mostly developed on-the-job starting with a best boy/temp gaffer opportunity on the WV-made film "Meadow Bridge." I have written/produced/directed several short films, two features, and numerous short community documentaries. I am a hard worker and an adaptable, fast learner. My production interests include script supervision, lighting, writing, direction, set photography, art and production design/set decoration, producing, and general production assistance.
In addition to on-set contributions I am an active supporter of the WV filmmaking community. I am the manager of The Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre in downtown Beckley, which does special spotlight screenings of WV-made content and supports active productions as able. I am co-founder of BEX Arts, a 501(c)3 which hosts an annual week-long arts festival in Beckley. Programming for this endeavor includes an annual film festival and filmmaking workshops which have provided aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience from professionals in the WV filmmaking community such as Tijah Bumgarner and MTN Craft Productions. And my own indie media startup Butter Chicken Pictures has spearheaded the production of numerous short narrative, short documentary, and two feature narrative productions in and around Beckley. My team's feature debut "It's Gonna be a Punk Rock Summer" was awarded best WV Feature Narrative at the 2018 WV FILMmaker's Festival, and our second feature "Ambrosia!" is in post-production as of October 2022.
